Honestly, as a professional in the animation and VFX industry you have a lot further to go before you can even be considered professional level.  You seem to only be capable of drawing in your style and your anatomy definitely needs work.  Keep going, as an artist we never stop learning.  But I don't think you'll be able to work as a professional for a few years yet.

I think you can do it. You're certainly more talented than me in terms of drawing people and settings, and I'm going into an Illustration/Animation program right now. I worry about doing freelance work as well, but hey, you can always do part-time and quick cash jobs to supplement the income when things don't go well. It's not ideal, but it puts bread on the table.

It's possibly, though follow the path of someone like ~FeralFinch and do work whilst studying and get an internship later and so on. Doing it freelance is very difficult as the industry is continually flooded with talent every year, you need to find a way to stand out from the crowd and really show you can be professional and keep to deadlines whilst being able to create the work need to impress. It's not impossible for you, if you want to do it, follow your heart :)

Being a freelance is, er, "free" - spiritually and considered the space and time too, and it's really great, also considering your current skills. But there are disadvantages as you may face them - no financial securities. We artists should not roam like wild tigers but also should have our own pack, in my opinion. Being dependent on your own on everything is every man's dream :D But as a starter, you should have a place in society, and have a status, so *Yokoshiro will be a good name to recommend, for ex. * I meant get a job for experience and be known* :D

Yes, but we're talking about a real career in illustration. We're talking money to supplement income, not points for buying and trading only here.

Well yeah, but I've seen illustrators who have less talent than :iconyokoshiro:, and they can make a living out of it.

Yes, and I think Yokoshiro's got a chance. I'm just saying that telling someone you'd pay them in points doesn't help their need to get a real income. I'm just giving my :twocents:

So , do you think I should like further study or work with a real company first?
Though I'm feeling a bit glad here that at least the few comments here sounds a bit more supportive compared to my mom's -__-

Well, in all honesty, I feel that you should continue to study but also obtain an internship at a company that would help you understand more about the industry. That way, you would still have your degree, and also have a leg up on everyone else whom is trying to become a freelance illustrator. Being an intern will put you in contact, even if indirectly, with many people or businesses that could help you with your career.

I'm sure your mom is only trying to harden you to life's cruelties. Inside, she's probably cautiously delighted that you are making such decisions regarding your future. Parents tend to be overprotective of their children and do not want to see them struggle or be hurt. It's rather sweet of her, in an odd sort of way, that she has been trying to steer you in a different direction.

If you continue your studies and opt to take on an internship at the same time, I believe your mom will be satisfied to a small degree that you are both willing to abide by her advice, but wanting to break out on your own. Best of luck in your decision!!!

Well true , it's good to have network right? Though then again , that's just one of the few things which I'm terrible at >.> '\

Haha , idk if my mom really thinks so deep within. But I'll be quite delighted to really hear her real thoughts about arts and I one day. I've always think we live in quite different worlds really. Especially when it comes to art related issues , we never really see eye to eye.

Thanks for the feedback =]

Oh no! Well, I suppose this would be a good opportunity to hone your skills a bit. Right?

I think all parents live in a different world from their children. It's probably for the best that you don't see eye to eye on this, because it just made you work a bit harder to hone your skills. When you become successful (and I'm positive you will!!), it'll be that much more satisfying.

You're very welcome! I wish you all the luck in the world. :)

Why thank you =]
